New Garden in the Desert

Here is the start of a new Desert Garden! It's kinda sad to start all over again, but at the same time it's fun to pick new plants again.
Here is a pot of plants I picked 2 annuals to give quick color and 1 perennial to grow for next season. I chose a bright green Sweet Potato and a bicolor Angelonia because both grow really fast! I also bought a Guara because it's really drought tolerant and will be nice and overflowing the pot next season.
Here's my pretty red Salvia, it's one of my favorite perennial plants that the hummingbirds love too!
Lastly a pretty pink mini-rose we couldn't resist! And it smells really yummy! We also bought a larger rose but it doesn't have any blooms right now.
Gerard is starting a bunch of seeds too, a ton of Sweet Pea's which it's the perfect time for Sweet Peas any other time of the year and it's too hot for them here! We are so lucky to be able to have some flowers in the winter!

Beautiful start to your new garden! I actually miss starting over again .... is that strange? I think moving gets in your blood (I'm an Army brat as well as an Army wife!)
The sweet potato vines did really well for me this year - I grew both the green and the black. If you're interested in some Purple Bean Vine seeds, let me know! I'm going to dry some to put in next year!
Happy growing! :)
