This morning I looked outside and the rose bud that had started blooming was looking so stunning that I had to take a photo!
We have fallen in love with the desert and enjoy creating our very own garden oasis! We love that in the desert you can garden all year round! Our favorites are roses, plants that have wonderful fragrance, and hummingbird attracting plants. As well and anything that's pretty and grows wonderfully!

Fall Additions!

The perennials we put in this area from left to right are Society Garlic, Dwarf Lily of the Nile, a pink Autumn Salvia, and Verbena(can't really see it back there in the shade). I think the Verbena might be getting too much shade and will need to be moved.

Most everything we got is drought tolerant, but the reason we put the rose there is when the grass is watered the water runs to this spot which will be perfect for the rose, but would have been too much water for a drought tolerant plant. The spot also gets full sun!

New Garden in the Desert

Gerard is starting a bunch of seeds too, a ton of Sweet Pea's which it's the perfect time for Sweet Peas any other time of the year and it's too hot for them here! We are so lucky to be able to have some flowers in the winter!

Pair of Cardinals

We bought a feeder and found out what seed to buy that would attract mostly Cardinals and Safflower seeds fit in that category.
Here are some video we took this afternoon! The male is very loud and makes a chirping sound almost constantly...that's how we know they are nearby! LOL
Here's the Male and Female, it always seems like the male checks things out first and then the female comes over after him.
